Of Acutonics Headquarters

The Acutonics Institute of Integrative Medicine (previously Kairos Institute of Sound Healing, LLC) was founded in Seattle, Washington in 1997 and moved to Northern New Mexico in 2001. We are the creators of the Acutonics System and have trained practitioners and teachers throughout the world. This system was co-developed by Donna Carey, LAc, and has evolved over the past twenty- five years through the combined efforts of Donna, Ellen Franklin, and more than fifty Acutonics Instructors who teach this work around the globe. There are also hundreds of practitioners that integrate this modality into their clinical work, and contribute to the growing body of research through their case study documentation.

The Acutonics System of Sound Healing has been integrated into community clinics, hospitals, and private practices and the results are long lasting and life changing, with thousands of case studies that speak to the efficacy of this modality. Our first textbook Acutonics®: There’s No Place Like Ohm, Sound Healing, Oriental Medicine and the Cosmic Mysteries, was published in 2002, and the 2nd revised edition was released in 2007.

A new book by Donna Carey, Ellen Franklin, MichelAngelo and Paul & Jude Ponton, Acutonics®: From Galaxies to Cells, Planetary Science, Harmony, and Medicine was published in 2009. The Acutonics Certification Program is taught throughout the world. Our Senior Faculty members have completed extensive training in this modality. Many have years of clinical and teaching experience, and have developed specialized electives that complement the Acutonics Certification Program. “The development of Acutonics came out of frustrations and limitations with the primary mode of healing I practiced; in other words, the context of the things I was seeing clinically called for a deeper understanding of the individual in terms of their emotional and spiritual development. I needed different tools, finer tools. The systems of acupuncture and bodywork failed to reach into the edges of human spiritual development and the development of human consciousness, whose growth and acceleration now, I believe, is greater possibly than any other time in history. Seeing the value of the energetic systems of the meridian’s, particularly the premeridian systems known as the extraordinary vessels or psychic vessels, I believed we could bring together a new vibratory system of healing that introduced sound directly into the channels themselves.
